1947
Sir Thomas Jones solda peace of land at Mackworth Road to GiovanniMalvisi. Then it was mainly sand dunes leadingdown to the beach, it would be interesting tohear his comments if he could see it today.


1950
Giovanni built a few wooden shopson the site, selling teas and drinks for the beach, lateradding a self-service cafe facing the beach, servingholidaymakers staying a Treece bay and day-trippers fromthe valleys, the business started to grow.
1964 - 1977
Giovanni, his son Clide, and his sisters were thefounders of the company. Clide and his sister Rozina enthusiastically carried on the family business replacing wooden buildings with more permanent brick built structures.
Hi-Tide self servicecafe was converted into the Hi-Tide pub.The business ran for many years growing steadilyand won for itself a reputation for good service, food andentertainment


2003 - 2006
Remaining a family businessover the last 20 yearsFrancesca and Geoff Dower have built the Arcade, newshops, the Breakwater Lounge, Bayside Lounge and a number of extensions to the Hi-Tide bar, continually investing to cater for its increased popularity.
The atmosphere and location of the complex has encouraged people from all walks of life to visit and enjoythe hospitality the Hi-Tide offers. June 2005 saw the opening of The Harbour Lights Lounge and Sundeck, with its breath taking views acrossthe beach head, and at the closing of the day it's the perfect place to relax.
